Provisional Programme

join us for an outstanding programme this year at the BASO_NCRI Annual Conference. The Trainees meeting is aimed to improve the expereience, training and professional competence of surgical trainees with an inerest in oncology, principally in academic and research matters.

BASO Trainees can join for the day for a discounted registeration fee £25. The trainees meeting will merge into the main BASO Surgical Tracks and we will be introduing the BASO Trainees Oral and Poster Prizes this year.


BASO Training Day in association with Leicester General Hospital. Focus will be on Sarcoma, Melanoma, Ortho-oncology and Metastases. CPD & CME approval will be applied for (ASGBI). Special delegate rates for BASO and BASO Trainees members. Programme and registration details will be advertised soon!

BASO endorses the scientific events and training programmes organised by our European sister organisation, the European Society of Surgical Oncology. ESSO offers a wide range of multidisciplinary educational events designed for surgical trainees and oncologist of all levels.

The Needlemakers Company Educational Bursaries
The Worshipful Company of Needlemakers is generously providing 5 bursaries of up to £1000 each in the academic year 2015-2016. The bursaries are available to trainees who are members of the College or an affiliate and wish to attend one of the RCS Education courses listed below and held at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Applicant should be in stages CT1-CT2 or ST1-ST2 of a recognised UK training programme.
