Ordinary Trustee
Mr Aaron Quyn is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery and
Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the University of Leeds and Leeds
Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
He obtained MB ChB from the University of Edinburgh in 2001 and
PhD in cell biology from University of Dundee in 2009. Mr Quyn was
clinical lecturer to Professor Bob Steele at the University of
Dundee till 2016 developing an interest in Bowel Cancer Screening
and improving inequality of screening uptake.
Mr Quyn undertook a fellowship in locally advanced and recurrent
pelvic malignancy at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney. This
continues as his main clinical focus, which also includes complex
gynaecology malignancy and pelvic sarcomas.
He is a member of the UK Pelvic Exenteration Network Steering
Committee, a group dedicated to improving surgical standards for
advanced pelvic disease of all aetiologies. He is also the Deputy
Director of the NIHR MedTech Co-operative in Surgical Technologies
- a national network facilitating the translation of novel
technologies into clinical practice. This compliments his role as
Deputy Clinical Director for the Leeds RCS Engl. Surgical Trials
Centre.
