Miss Gloria Petralia is an Educational Supervisor at Oxford
University Hospitals Foundation Trust, supervising and training
specialist registrars, fellows, nurse practitioners, specialist
nurses, and medical students. In her role as the Breast MDT Lead,
Gloria oversee governance and operational processes and lead
updates to clinical guidelines.
Previously, Miss Petralia served as Breast Firm Lead for
undergraduate teaching at University College London, where she
collaborated with the local deanery in ARCP assessments, Core
Surgical Training (CT1) interviews, and the Surgical In-Training
Evaluation (SITE). Additionally, she acted as the local Principal
Investigator for the TARGIT trials at UCLH and Whittington,
evaluating intraoperative radiotherapy as an alternative to
adjuvant radiotherapy in breast-conserving surgery.
Throughout her career, Miss Petralia has established and managed
several clinical trials, including translational studies and a
large prospective, multicenter international registry on cancer and
thrombosis at the Thrombosis Research Institute.
On 4th November 2024, Miss Petralia was officially appointed as
an Ordinary Member of the BASO Council.
