The Alan Edwards Poster Prize is awarded annually to the best presenting author for the best poster presentation at the BASO~ACS Scientific Conference.

This Prize is open to all Residents.

ABOUT ALAN EDWARDS

Established in 1978, the prize honours the memory of Alan Edwards, a Consultant Surgeon at Whipps Cross Hospital and one of the early members of BASO.

Alan Edwards made a significant contribution to the surgical oncology community before his tragic death in a boating accident.   The very first Alan Edwards memorial prize was awarded in 1978.  See the full list of award recipients at the end of this page. 

📌 How the Competition Works

📚✨During the BASO Conference, the top selected poster presentations are shortlisted by the judging panel.

🎤 Finalists are then invited to deliver a short oral presentation of their work to conference delegates and judges.
